I’ve been shooting Toddlewood images for over 8 years. It started off as just something fun to do with my then 3 year old daughter, Skylar, which quickly turned into an excuse to play dress up with a bunch of kids and get them in front of my camera to hey kids we’re going to be on TV agin and again and again and again…well you get the point. It’s a labor of love that has allowed me to meet incredible people, hugs tons of kids and make friends with incredible moms from everywhere.
After an amazingly successful 17 year run in the advertising industry, I am able to take my simple dress up idea into a business where I can include BOTH my girls. Do we have a lot going on at the same time? Yes. Have we made mistakes? Yes. Do we have more ideas? Yes. Are we going to stop? Heck No! We are destined to…well there’s a lot there that I want to share with you but I’ll do it in another blog post. But as for this one, I can share with you what my S-Crew (Shaw, my husband aka Mr. Fantastic, Skylar, 11 , and Sunday, 6) are very excited about.
You see, every year myself and my team recreate the Hollywood red carpets and give them the Toddlewood treatment, I am always asked, among other things, if and when the dresses can be available for purchase. But the last thing I want to do is to launch a high end dress line or any ready-to-wear dress line for kids. But last year, Fantastic and I got to thinking. Why don’t we create a red carpet fashion line full of Hollywood glam but make them costumes! This way girls can wear them for Halloween, Playdates, Birthday Party themes or simply just because. Every little girl can look and feel like a Star! Brilliant. Now, uhhhhh how do we do it?
Well, we have contracted with people who do just that…well sort of. They manufacture all sorts of products for large and small companies. So I’m introducing this to you know so that you can follow along with the process and progress of this business venture. Is it easy? Nope. Am I pissed off on a regular basis? Absolutely. Am I going to miss my Halloween 2017 launch? A strong maybe. Do I have a plan B and C? We’ll see. Stay tuned. The First Family Of Toddlewood Video Blog will give you a picture perfect view of the making of the “Toddlewood Red Carpet Stars” costume line. So stay tuned.
